International English School of Castellón Named “School of the Year” at the 2026 Dukes European Awards

We are thrilled to share some momentous news with our entire community: International English School of Castellón has been officially named “School of the Year” at the 2026 Dukes European Awards.

This is a monumental achievement and serves as the highest honor within the Dukes Education family. To be chosen for this top spot from among 22 different schools across 7 countries in Europe is a testament to the incredible work we do every single day.

Each year, these awards celebrate outstanding excellence across a dozen categories. What makes this recognition particularly special is the process: nominations are submitted directly by staff members across the group, which are then meticulously reviewed by the Dukes board to identify the year’s most impactful contributors.

The award is judged based on high academic achievement, exceptional pastoral care, and overall success across all areas of school life. As a member of the Dukes Education family, we are incredibly proud that this award distinguishes us as the premier institution among so many prestigious schools, recognising the exceptional work we do here in Castellón.

A Night of Individual Excellence

While the “School of the Year” trophy is a collective victory, our pride was further bolstered by three of our colleagues who were recognised for their individual brilliance. We are incredibly proud to celebrate our three finalists:

  • Phil Renaghan (Tutor, Y6C): Nominated for the Best New Member of Staff Award.
  • Elena Roig (Receptionist): Nominated for the Best Customer Service Award.
  • Francesca De Cata (Head of Marketing): Nominated for the Marketing Initiative Award.

These nominations highlight the depth of talent we have across all departments, from the classroom to the front office.

A Victory for Our Entire Community

While the “School of the Year” award may sit in our trophy cabinet, its true home is in the daily passion of everyone who walks our corridors. This award is a reflection of our entire community—staff, students, and parents alike.

In response to the win, our School Director, David Russell, shared his pride: “This award is a testament to the hard work of our whole community. From the classroom to the kitchen, every member of our community plays a vital role in making our school a place of excellence.”

Thank you to everyone associated with our school. We look forward to continuing this standard of excellence throughout 2026 and beyond!
